Frenchman's Bay!

The snapping turtle and crew headed out with full sails in the afternoon of August the 10th. Immediately upon exiting Scarborough bluffs, a large gust of wind from the West announced it was Time to Reef! The snapping turtle hit an all time high of 12 knots! the crew hove to and reefed the main, then continued for another 5 minutes or so before realizing there was still way too much sail up. The main was dropped and the snapping turtle continued to make between 5 -6 knots whilst hugging the North shore.

Many MUCH bigger boats were seen at extreme angles of heel further out! As we rounded the Eastern point, even the jib became too much to handle, so it was rolled in and we snuck past the club races while making dinner plans.

Finally, we had arrived. The new, much more dependable 4-stroke leaped into action and we found our way to Frenchman's Bay marina, where people were puzzled at our presence on such a blustery day, but quite pleasant.

A quick change into evening-wear, and we were dining at PORT and sipping their most excellent cosmos!
