Toronto Islands Cruise

Finally got to use my Lake Ontario ports book & visit the Toronto Islands! In a surprise move, my dad tagged along and provided excellent crewing.

The legs were small, and taken one per day for the most part. 5 NM to Ashbridges Bay, a quick jaunt around the corner to the Queen City Yacht Club, a quick visit to Marina Four where we picked up additional crew and a swim ladder, and where the harbour master took pity on us being so small and let us come inside the gate for a day visit.

On the way back, Ashbridges was full, so we ended up staying at the Toronto Hydroplane and Sail Club, which was quite fun, then heading home the next day.

While the trip went very well, it did showcase a couple of things: - mosquitos MOSQUITOES ....(we did not have any netting)

- The boat pillows are not adequate for sleeping - mattress toppers or thermarests must be bought before another trip

We had a rescue with our new swim ladder, too, which would not have been possible without it. An excellent gift from my dad, to be sure!
