Repairs: the begginning

So after a thorough investigation and light cleaning of the snapping turtle I found quite a few things that need attention. The most dire being that the winch used to pull up the swing keel has pulled the bolt attaching it to the board above almost entirely through the wood! The cable has also frayed in a couple spots, so when we remove the winch it'll be a good time to replace that as well.

I'm hoping to be able to do it on the trailer, but we might need to lift the boat. UGH!

The other issue of note is that the lock down mechanism (usually a bolt or pin) for the swing keel seems to be absent. Not so much of a big deal if the boat is flat, but means the keel could swing back up into the boat when she's heeled over - the absolute last time you'd want something like that to happen! I think it may have been filled to prevent leakage in the cabin area, in which case I may just be able to re-drill it - but I have to find it first!

that's a scary amount of bolt to see when it's holding up your keel

There are some modifications I'd like to make to the trailer, too
